The Maynard 4 Foundation hosted its annual Miss Juneteenth America Scholarship Pageantry Program™, which “aims to not only showcase the inherent beauty of these women (ages 13 to 18) but also minimize the stereotypes; develop a sense of self-confidence and pride; and deepen the understanding of African and Black/African American history and culture.”
The Empowerment Approach was awarded a grant totaling $11,505 to distribute educational scholarships to the pageant participants. Funds have been distributed to assist with college and training prep, back-to-school supplies, and extracurricular activity fees!
